Summary

In Chapter 28, Fernanda and Cacá return to their apartment. Fernanda searches Maju’s room for clues and realizes that half of Maju’s closet space is taken up by the family Christmas tree, which they do not have room for anywhere else. Fernanda spent a lot of money making the room as nice as possible for Maju to assuage her guilt. The room looks like a suite in a fancy Japanese hotel, which is why the room is nicknamed the Tokyo Suite.

In Chapter 29, Maju and Ednardo continue to chat. Maju asks him to stop so she can pee. She is too afraid to leave Cora alone with him so she carries her, still sleeping, with her while she pees on the roadside.

Chapter 30 is a brief paragraph of Fernanda recalling Cora trying to get her attention in various ways throughout her life...
