Summary

In Chapter 20: "Email to Hanne," Arlo writes to Hanne about what is expected of him in Ecuador. He also admits that he once loved a non-Christian girl and asks Hanne to keep his secrets.

Chapter 21: "The First Time" continues in second person as Arlo thinks back to when he was 17. After S protected Arlo, the bullies left him and his friends alone. He also caught the attention of girls after puberty, with one sexually assaulting him. S was furious because he seemed to like it, believing he heard rumors of S and Crazy Charles.
