Summary

In Chapter 14, "Hanne meets Arlo," Cyril shares his concerns that Arlo feels he cannot speak freely. When they notice Arlo outside, Cyril hesitates to introduce Hanne, but she convinces him. Arlo seems Charmed and excitedly tells Hanne how he can talk to Sighted people using an SBC that converts typing to Braille and back. Cyril reluctantly agrees to help set it up while Arlo waits for his ride.

This conversation is shown through Arlo's perspective. Hanne tells him about her life, her dreams of moving to New York, and uncertainty about becoming a nurse. Arlo knows she does not believe he wants to be a missionary. Then when Hanne asks if Arlo is in love, he admits he is not a virgin and pleads for her not to tell anyone.
