Summary

In “Chapter 76,” Isaac explains that he asked Elin to watch Sam while he went to the bathroom. When Isaac came back, Elin was just standing there and Sam was in the water, dead. The doctors said that Elin had gone into shock and Sam had died instantly from hitting his head. Elin does not want to believe it, but she does.

“Chapter 77” is labeled “Day Five.” Elin wakes up early and remembers watching Sam fall into the water.

In “Chapter 78,” Elin asks Isaac to come with her because she has remembered that Margot dropped something during the fight.

In “Chapter 79,” Elin and Isaac find an envelope. Inside, Elin finds the unredacted medical files and realizes that one of them is for a woman named Bette Massen, a relative of Margot. There are also photographs of five women being operated on by men...
