Chapter 5 Summary

After work, Steve and Bob drive to their new house, but get hung up in traffic along the way. Steve curses the traffic, remembering why he previously chose a condo close to the station. He wonders if Daisy sits in the same traffic jam before he nears the front of the bottleneck and sees that Daisy's wreck of a car caused the backup.

Later that night, Daisy arrives at Steve's to help him barbecue, as promised. She admires his house, though inwardly she thinks it is too large for a bachelor and a dog. As they take preparations for dinner outside, Steve tells Daisy that security caught a man attempting to deface her news car.
