Alice Ogilvie

Alice Ogilvie is one of the narrators in the novel. She is a 17-year-old student at Castle Cove High School who comes from one of the wealthiest families in town. She lives in a big mansion, but her parents are always gone on work, so she spends most of her time alone reading Agatha Christie books, and her maid, Brenda, stands in as a mother to her. In the first book in the series, Alice is one of the popular girls known as the “Mains.” She is very intelligent and rebellious, so when her boyfriend starts dating her best friend, Brooke Donovan, Alice fakes her own disappearance like Agatha Christie once did, but then she gets suspended from school and all her friends turn on her and call her crazy. When she comes back, Brooke is murdered, and Alice decides to uncover the truth with her tutor...
