Summary

In Chapter 27, Iris and her friends find a secret room covered in flowered wallpaper inside the study that is opened by hitting the piano keys. They go inside and find a bedroom with blood in the sink and a picture of Mona Moody in a necklace beneath the bed. They realize that the room locks from the outside, and the only way out is through a window and down a tree. They look down and see the cater-waiter jacket, but then the police arrive and arrest Iris. Alice texts Raf and learns that the police found a diary inside the jacket.

In Chapter 28, Detective Thompson interrogates Iris until her lawyer, Ricky Randall, arrives. She tells Iris that she convinced the police to give Iris community service, but her mother insisted she stay the night to learn a lesson.
