Summary

In Chapter 6, after work, Lynette met "a sixty-year-old pudgy bald man" at the Hotel deLuxe (43). After ordering drinks, the man said he was surprised she called him. It was a good night, though. His wife was out of town. Lynette admitted she wanted to ask for help investing money. The man listened, then said he could not help. She did not have enough to invest. Besides, he liked seeing her because she was a distraction from the rest of his life. Despite his rejection, Lynette agreed to go upstairs with him.

After sex, the man showered. Meanwhile, Lynette stole the key to his Mercedes, and hid it. Once he emerged, he thanked her "for everything," and paid her (50). After parting, Lynette watched him search for his key, and return to the room. Then she got in the car, drove to "a darkened street...
