Summary

Ringer is prepared to apologize to Razor in Chapter 61, but a different recruit brings her next meal and refuses to explain the change. That night, Ringer's sleep is filled with dreams of her father cursing her when she brought him vodka. As a child, people were jealous of her father's fame, and though she took care of him from age 14 because he was an alcoholic, Ringer lived the delusion others believed until he died.

Fearing that Razor is dead, Ringer holds her breath when the door opens in Chapter 62, and she is relieved when Razor enters with a tray. Rather than play Chaseball, they talk about Razor's childhood and how his father did not think he was smart enough to be a doctor or lawyer like his mother wanted.
