Summary
As Scene 3 continues inside, Dwayne complains that Cordell can’t see his own potential. Isom, humorously quoting his mom’s advice not to sit too close to the TV, says that Dwayne needs to get out of the way and stand back so that Cordell can see for himself. With Cordell gone, Everett, Big Charles, and Dwayne all start watching the basketball game on TV. Isom, nervous Cordell will be mad at them when he comes back in, carries on with his job of stirring the pot. He tastes the sauce and doesn’t think it’s spicy enough so he searches around the kitchen for something to give it a bit more kick.
