Summary

Scene 2 takes place in an upstairs bedroom. Dwayne helps Everett settle in. Everett explains that his dad is staying with his new girlfriend meaning Everett has nowhere to live. Everett asks if he can live here and Dwayne says he would have to discuss it with Cordell. Everett reminds Dwayne that it is two years this weekend since the death of his mother Jelissa (Dwayne’s sister). Dwayne expresses regret for calling the police, hinting that doing so led to her death, but no further details are shared at this stage.

Scene 3 takes place in the kitchen where Cordell, Big Charles, and Isom dance and sing while preparing the hot wings. Dwayne enters and joins in. Everett enters.
