Summary

The play takes place over the course of 24 hours in the home of partners Cordell and Dwayne, in Memphis, Tennessee. In the opening scene, Cordell gives his friend Isom multiple different flavored hot wings to try. Isom think they all taste great. Cordell asks if he thinks he might finally win the local hot wing contest with these recipes. Isom thinks he will. He imagines Cordell winning alongside his friends who help him, who call themselves the New Wing Order. In the next room, Big Charles, on again off again partner of Isom, watches a basketball game. He keeps yelling at the TV because his team are losing. Isom complains that he should be in the kitchen helping with the cooking. Cordell’s partner Dwayne enters.
