Summary

The Golden Enclaves is the final novel in the Scholomance trilogy. It is narrated by El, the main character. When she was born, a prophecy foretold that El would be the evilest maleficer of all time. However, she wanted to be a good person, so she avoided using malia—power taken from death—and instead used only mana—which she generated herself through exercise and meditation. Most wizards could take only small bits of malia, but El had a natural ability to strip entire cities of malia to create nuclear bomb sized catastrophes, and she was always careful not to ever dabble in darkness. She attended the Scholomance school where teens went during their most vulnerable years for protection against the monsters—or mals—that plagued the magical community.
