Dreng's Ferry/King's Bridge

Dreng's Ferry/King's Bridge is the name of the village that has a farm for Edgar's family after the Viking attack. The farm is near the river with poor soil and many problems. Mildred accepts it because she and her sons have no other options. The small village is very different from Combe because of its size and the relaxed religious views of the village's people. The main part of the village is an alehouse that serves as the base for the ferry, the church which is in poor repair, and a few farms. By 1006, the town has grown significantly and the name has changed to King's Bridge.
