Summary

"Allison, Age 18, August 1996" is written from Allison’s perspective. She is with Archer at his friend’s birthday party. It is on Cutty Beach. Archer is trying to see if he can have fun without drinking. Allison is trying to avoid Matt, who is drunk and has been looking for Kayla. Archer goes to get a sweatshirt. Allison goes to find Adam, hoping that he will take her home. She sees him on the pier with Anders looking at the water. Allison overhears them talking and is not sure she wants to know what they are talking about. She is about to leave, but decides to ask them what they are doing. Anders says they are taking care of a problem.
