Summary

In Chapter 15, Madison is shocked when she sees Naomi and takes Mr. B's hand in an effort to reassure him but Mr. B still locks her in the cellar when they arrive at the cabin. She resumes drawing on the walls and comes across the figure that had been there when she first arrived. She thought it was the number 8 but now realizes it was a capital B, and knows that Mr. B was also held in the cellar. Madison takes off her clothes and stands naked. She “touched her cleft” (Location 2692) and realized that she had actually been “born anew” in a way that happened to all adults.

Violet invites Naomi to church and Naomi accepts, knowing that her clients often want to find some way to connect her to whatever entity held their faith in the hope that would help her...
