Chapters 18, 19 and 20 Summary

In Chapter 18, it appears the Julia's mother is being affected by what is known by the people as gravity sickness or simply, the syndrome. As Julia's mother continues to struggle with her illness, Seth comes back to school. Believing that a boy from a real time settlement is coming to get her, Gabby shaves her head. She has heard other girls in that community are doing the same thing. When her parents find out what has happened, Gabby's cell phone is taken away and she loses her computer access. Julia continues to spy on Sylvia as Sylvia's behavior becomes more and more bizarre. One week, someone cuts the electric lines to the houses inhabited by the three real time families in the neighborhood.
