Tolerance

Tolerance is a lesson being taught by the people involved with SingleEarth and as the story opens, Sarah is completely opposed to the ideals of that organization. Her attitude seems the result of a lifetime of teaching by her mother. Dominique Vida is an intolerant person who isn't willing to listen to any opinion other than her own. This is seen clearly when Dominique discovers Sarah has befriended vampires. She is so furious with what she considers a betrayal that she's willing to condemn Sarah to death. Sarah may never have learned any tolerance except for her friendship with Nissa and Christopher.
