Point of View

The book is written in the third person from the limited perspective of Sarah Vida. Sarah is a vampire hunter and has been raised in a family that is adamantly intolerant of any vampire, regardless of their personal choices. However, Sarah is more tolerant and this is an important part of her perspective. Sarah's willingness to see her mother as she is rather than believing her mother is perfect is a testament of Sarah's strength of character and also of her largely unbiased perspective. Sarah, however, struggles greatly with the need to kill all vampires - including two who become her friends - and her willingness to tolerate those who choose a peaceful lifestyle.
