Summary
This section begins the same as all the others, with Asle looking at the paint lines on the Saint Andrew's Cross painting. Asle thinks about his time at The Art School, how despite the amazing professors he had, the most influential part of his education was the art he was exposed to at the Bjørgvin Art Museum. Asle and Ales spend time together, getting to know one another, although they are already deeply in love.
In the present, Asle thinks about all the people he has loved and lost, like his parents, grandparents, sister Alida, and wife Ales. Åsleik comes over for Advent dinner, and both the food and the visit help ground Asle back in reality.
