Summary
This section starts the exact same way as section I, with Asle standing in front of the painting with the brown and purple lines, in the shape of Saint Andrew's cross. He wakes up in Bjørgvin, where he stayed the night after giving Bragi to Guro. He goes to her house on the Lane to retrieve Bragi first thing in the morning. Guro and Asle have a confusing exchange, where she insists that they have known each other for a long time, and implies that they were lovers, however Asle does not remember this. Guro mentions that Asle would often come to her house drunk, but this Asle does not drink, and is sure that he has never seen Guro before. Guro gives Bragi to Asle, and he returns home to Dyglja.
