The Thirtieth Summary

Len ends up getting valedictorian and Jessica comes in second in the class. She gets to give her speech first, which is not the speech everyone expects from Jessica Darling. Her speech blows Len's predictable speech away. After the ceremony, Hope surprises Jessica. When Hope and Marcus shake hands in greeting, Jessica feels a sense of relief. She admits to living in the moment for the first time—and not worrying about the future so much. She also says her living in the moment is short lived.
