The Seventeenth Summary

For St. Patrick's Day, Jessica and her parents attend a celebration at Gaddie's nursing home. Marcus is dancing with Marcus and he's wearing a "Kiss Me, I'm Irish" t-shirt. He says Gladdie gave it to him. Gladdie urges Jessica to kiss Marcus. When the Darlings ask Marcus about his college plans, he announces that he isn't going to college. This astonishes the Darlings. Marcus mentions Jessica is conflicted about her college plans, to which Mrs. Darling agrees. Marcus says that if he was going to college that he would go to New York City. Jessica wonders how he knows about Columbia and why he's saying this to her parents, so she pulls him aside. Marcus says he knows about Columbia from Len.
