The Superiority of Progressive Ideology

Progressivism is espoused as being the morally and ethically superior political ethic throughout the novel. The characters in the novel hold leftist beliefs and are strongly convicted about the validity of these beliefs. Two of the moral ills most fought against in the novel are racism and sexism. The changing face of progressivism in the early twenty-first century is illustrated through the confusion that the main characters sometimes face when trying to decide how to act within these movements.
