Summary

Chapter 2 begins in July 2020, and because of the pandemic, Noah and Sally are only able to communicate via email, and the entire chapter is composed solely of their emails back and forth. When Noah emails in July, it is their first correspondence since the after after party a couple of years ago. Sally is living in Missouri with her step-father, Jerry, because it was too hard being stuck in a small apartment in New York City during the lockdown. Noah regrets how things went wrong with them at the end of his time on TNO. He explains that he went to Black Lives Matter protests, but he tried to do so without drawing any attention to himself.
