Summary

Chapter 4 begins as Maryse walks towards Butcher Clyde’s Choice Cuts & Grillery where Butcher Clyde is holding a grand opening. As Maryse approaches the establishment, she sees four Klan members standing outside, and she knows that at least two of them are Ku Kluxes.

As the Klan members step aside and let Maryse in, she hears her brother’s voice saying “Bruh Rabbit walking into Bruh Gator’s open jaws” (81). She notices Ku Kluxes handing out brown packages when she sees a poster advertising a screening of Birth of a Nation at Stone Mountain. She sees Butcher Clyde and confirms that he is the same person she saw in her dream.
