Mia decides to pay attention in economics class, after the budget debacle. They are learning about scarcity and how governments have to allocate their resources. She thinks she did allocate their resources to the recycling bins, but that this has come to back to haunt her.

Tina talks to Mia in English about hearing about the budget problem, since Tina was getting her retainer replaced. Tina suggests selling the candles but Mia tells her no. Tina asks Mia if something is wrong and Mia tells her about Michael's party and about how college girls will be there.

Mia reveals that she doesn't want to break Michael's heart about not going to the party. She says it's bad enough when she has to do it every three months...
