Mia finds out that the budget for the student body government is empty. They are the only student body government to spend all of the money in seven months, when they have three more months to go. This means that they won't be able to rent the hall for the commencement ceremony at the end of the year.

Mia starts to think that her officers are setting her up for failure, similar to how President Kennedy was set up for failure during the Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba. Mia starts to believe that the officers want her to fail because ultimately as the president, it is her responsibility, even though the treasurer didn't warn Mia they were running out of money.
