Summary

The next chapter is titled “Two.” Monday has not been in the library for more than two years, and she is shocked to see it looks very much like a house, complete with a kitchen where the children's section once was. She believes Nathan is playing Truth or Dare and declares “truth” or “lie” at almost every statement he makes. Nathan introduces his wife, Apple, who has been in the attic. Nathan quietly asks if she has found anything and she shakes her head. Nathan makes a point of filling a glass from the sink and drinking it.
