Summary

In Chapter Thirty-Seven, Chan has an after-practice conversation with Jimmi, who says that he had had a conversation with Coach, and had decided to talk with Chan about the assault in the locker room. Jimmi explains that he had been part of the planning of it, but did not follow through. He also clearly states that the reasons for the attack were because Rom felt as though Chan needed teaching a lesson for being accepted onto the football team so soon. He also explains that the bruise Chan saw him with the next day had come from Rom, who had hit him when he said he did not want to be part of the attack.
