Summary

In Chapter Twenty-Eight, as preparations continue for the final half of the season, Rom’s behavior becomes increasingly extreme, but he does not face any consequences. Assistant Coach Kearny in particular turns a blind eye, again referring to some of the things Rom does as “necessary roughness” (166).

Chapter Twenty-Nine begins with a description of how well the team merchandise is selling at the family’s store.
