Jenny

Jenny is a central character in the play, whose journey grapples with themes of guilt, accountability, and redemption. She is the sister of Alice, a high-achieving physicist working at CERN, and the daughter of Karen, whose cognitive decline due to presumed dementia strains family dynamics. At the heart of Jenny’s arc is her deep grief over the death of her daughter, Amy, who died of measles after Jenny chose not to vaccinate her. This decision has made Jenny a target of public and private blame, marking her as a “bad mother” in the eyes of society, her family, and, at times, herself. The play explores how this label oversimplifies her character and the complex circumstances surrounding her choices.
