Point of View

Moon Rising is written in first-person from the limited perspective of Moon, a NightWing dragonet. The novel's setting is the fictional land of Pyrrhia that is inhabited by seven tribes of dragons. Moon's perspective is not as limited as would be typical in this situation because she has the ability to read minds. This means she usually knows what other dragons are thinking anytime they are near. There are still some limitations with this power, however. For example, she is unable to fully know what the thoughts mean. It is possible that she misinterprets what she hears because she has limited access, does not always understand the context, and sometimes does not know enough about the dragons involved.
