Summary

Davy tells the reader that Chapter 16 is not part of the story and it is all right to skip it. He describes a dream he had after Altschuler visited in which he was walking along a beach with Fred. It looked like the beach they used to walk on, but longer. The scenery continued to transform and Fred disappeared. Davy took off his clothes and ran, and the wind became strong and threatening. Eventually he made his way back to Fred and his clothes, and the beach became small again. When Davy woke up it was Saturday morning.
