Summary

At the start of Chapter 11, Ben is hanging out at campus after school, waiting for Thomas to drive them home, when they run into Meleika, who convinces them to help her put up posters for the Spring Fling Dance. As they work, Nathan appears anxiously looking for a key to the art room, which Ben happily provides and the two of them rush off to fetch materials. While they are there, Nathan gazes entranced at Ben’s paintings hanging on the wall and asks Ben if they plan to go to prom. His inquiry leads to Ben rejecting the idea of attending dances or sporting events, and Nathan is visibly disappointed, which makes Ben happy. On top of this, Nathan insists on treating Ben to an outing of their choice, and the two of them smile, lost in thought about their mutual bond...
