Point of View

The novel is written from the third person point of view. The author presents this point of view in a unique way because her narration follows both Grant and Helen at different times. While one character’s point of view is being explored, the reader does not know what the other person is thinking or feeling except through their actions. This blind spot is then usually quickly removed as the author then switches to the other character’s point of view, filling out the story. Because the novel is written in this way, the reader can experience the action as each character is experiencing it, and the reader is also privy to Grant and Helen’s innermost thoughts and interpretations.
