Summary

In Chapter 39, the Prince of the Ravine Thanatos recognizes that Bryce is who his brothers talk about. He is furious that she killed the demon he planted to spy on The Bone Quarter. Then, out of respect for Bryce's strength, Thanatos confirms that Connor will be left alone in the Bone Quarter until enough time has passed. Only the Asteri can help with his soul.

Tharion asks about Emile but Thanatos has never heard of him. Then, he says he will eat the mystic's soul and vows to eat Bryce's once the doors open. The electricity goes out and Ithan saves the mystics from drowning. However, they all demand to be returned to their weightless existence.
