Marv looks at his disfigured, scarred face in the mirror. He takes time to prepare himself mentally, to experience his fear so that he can get rid of it. He imagines dying, being shot in the head. Then he thinks that he's just as likely to have to go through a trial and be executed in the electric chair. He's ready to be called a psycho killer, if he does what he needs to do right. He throws up, and then he grabs his coat, his gun, and his ax. He gets a pair of handcuffs from one of the prostitutes. Then, he goes out with Wendy in her car, and she drives off, running over a stop sign as she goes. Marv tries not to look at her, because he gets confused and begins seeing Goldie. He tells...
