Summary

The third chapter is titled “2006.” A year has passed since the previous chapter. Jane answers a call from Phyllis who reads her an article about the need for women to consume calcium. The conversations always read a “circular” point where they argue. At one point, Phyllis makes a comment that “Luke soured you on marriage” (88). Jane argues that she called off the wedding.
