Summary

Chapter 26 is from Rhysand's perspective. He is in Windhaven and there are six girls currently training. Devlon is “halfhearted” with his orders and does not comment on an incorrect maneuver. Rhysand is pleased they are at least beginning with a weapon they can learn. Rhysand pledges to help any girl who wants to learn the Illyrian bow – a very difficult weapon that even some males cannot master. The girls are all young and Azriel had hoped for more. Cassian points out that some are away with families for the Solstice holiday. The three of them have recently evaluated a list of “possible troublemakers” Azriel compiled. It is longer than Rhysand expected. Azriel is clearly ill at ease here, but Rhysand believes it is good for him “to sometimes remember where he'd come from” (221).
