Summary

In Chapter 12, Kyle talks to Sam about the vision involving Kimberly's phone. Sam says Kyle must remember that he had a serious head injury. Kyle struggles with guilt, anger that Kimberly will not allow him to “stand on my own” (97), and fear that he will never heal. When Kyle says how much he hurts, Sam becomes furious, saying Kyle has not considered that Sam is also hurting. He says Kyle never wants to talk except about his own pain. Kyle realizes Sam is right and apologizes. Sam says they cannot lose each other.
