Summary

The next chapter is titled “Andrew.” Jamie and Andrew split up despite Andrew's knowledge that things always go wrong in the movies when characters split up. Andrew finds the warehouse is a former strip mall housing several chain restaurants. He convinces a girl who works there to give him their backpacks, sleeping bags, and books along with the food they are entitled to. Andrew encounters Harvey who asks several leading questions and tries to hide his rudeness. Andrew is so relieved when he meets Jamie that he cries and hugs him, then pushes away to avoid being seen. Jamie was only able to get a little ammunition. They agree to get on the road right after dark.
