Summary

The next chapter is titled “Andrew.” Jamie and Andrew arrive at Reagan National Airport in Washington DC in the hope that Europe is sending aid. There are a lot of planes on the runways that have clearly been there a long time. They meet a Black kid named Chris who is staying on one of the private jets with his younger sister and brother. Chris reveals that a government official – an intern who was apparently the last official to die – brought official documents in case people came to the airport expecting aid. As Andrew and Jamie read, they discover that the death rate was 99.99 percent and that lockdowns in other countries did not save them. One report estimates more than 80 percent of the population around the world died. Chris and his siblings remain at the airport to spread the word. They hope to...
