Chapter 7 Minimum Wage at Mountain Lighthouse Summary

Alice is feeling depressed in contrast to how happy she was on her trip to Prince George. While they were gone some of the Angel Fish babies died because they hatched and Alice's father fed them brine fish which contaminated the water. Alice talks to Aubrey on the phone for about an hour which she has never done with anyone. Alice is excited but nervous for Aubrey to visit.

Alice's mother as an assistant manager at a bookstore called Mountain Lighthouse Brambleberry Books. One of the employees has quit and there is an immediate opening which she offers Alice. Alice gets the job starts training with the manager Corinne. Corinne isn't able to work much because she is allergic to everything and everyone. Margaret, one of the other employees ends up training her...
