Chapter 5 Helmet Head Summary

Alice goes shopping at the thrift store to find some clothing for her new look. Alice finds some articles of clothing that are slightly similar to what Frank was wearing and buys them in an attempt to make a fashion statement. Alice goes to the local hairdresser Irma to get a new modern haircut but ends up leaving with a helmet-looking disaster. Alice's mother is so upset with what a horrible job Irma did that she confronts her and the situation is so uncomfortable that Alice leaves and waits in the car.
