Chapter 72, Daenerys Summary

Daenerys takes Meereen with the help of her army and the secret path into the city through the sewers. She stakes out the slave masters in the road, as they had done to the slave children. After the coup, Daenerys decrees the new laws of the city. Thieves lose a hand, murderers are hanged, and rapists lose their manhood. She orders the bodies to be cleared away.

She meets an envoy from King Cleon, a member of the council she left to rule Astapor. Cleon has killed the rest of the council and set himself up as king. He offers to set up an alliance with her against Yunkai, which is setting up new armies. A captain from a ship also comes, offering to buy slaves. Daenerys says there are none, but Daario tells her some people want to be bought...
