Summary

Chapter 25 begins with Max’s life with Trent. A woman named Annie comes to walk him along with other dogs. Even though he tries to be mean to her, she treats him in such a manner that he decides to be nice to her. He wonders where CJ is and then one day Trent takes him to see her. She is in the hospital after surviving a suicide attempt. However, Max does not understand why she is there. Trent promises to return the next day. A few days later, he takes Max to the hospital with him again, Gloria arrives. She talks about how hard CJ’s situation is on her and then asks Trent to leave the room. When he does, she tries to dissuade CJ from having a relationship with Trent, even though CJ says they are just friends. Then Gloria...
