Chapter 88-92 Summary

Inside the house, Hughes and Cross find two dead teenagers, apparently street people. They have been drained. The house itself looks very unkempt. When they find a hatch in the floor, leading to a dark tunnel, Cross enters alone and sends Hughes for help. Filled with fear, Cross enters the tunnel. First, he finds the remains of one of the tiger's last meals, a small deer. A few yards into the tunnel, he hears the cat roar. As he fears the cat begins to approach, Craig enters the tunnel from behind him. He warns Craig to stay still, fearing for his life. The large tiger rushes Cross, knocks him aside and rushes past. After the tiger runs past Cross, he shoots, and kills the giant cat.
