Part 7, Chapter 7 Summary

Marius sees that the creature before him is badly burnt and realizes right away that he could not be mortal. No mortal would have survived burns such as these. The creature explains to Marius what will take place with the giving and receiving of the blood drink and how he will become immortal. He also tells Marius that his mission is to go down into Egypt and find out why he and so many others were burned. Others who were burned were not as lucky and did not survive. The lessons unfold for Marius as he drinks the blood from the elder vampire so he knows what he then needs to do.
