Part 6, Chapter 3 Summary

When Lestat hears how tumultuous things are in Paris, he wonders if he should go back. Roget tells him to stay out of Paris and Eleni suggests that Nicki will not be helped by Lestat coming back. As he and Gabrielle reach Cairo, there is a package that awaits Lestat. When he opens it he finds Nicki's Stradivarius violin. As a punishment for his erratic behavior, Armand cuts Nicki's hands off. Nicki, who has thoroughly lost his mind, kills himself by going into the fire.
